oh hello

my name is Christy Kurtz Harmon and I make stained glass windows and glass art in my studio (ahem, garage) i call the
Electric Blanket.

I learned how to make stained glass windows when I was 16 and have carried my equipment and glass throughout the various pitstops in life dabbling here and there.

it wasn’t until the pandemic hit that my love for the craft really blossomed again and i dedicated a space and committed to making these artworks.

while stained glass is traditionally made with a predetermined pattern, i’ve found so much joy in a freeform technique where i create the design in real time. doing this gives me the freedom to follow where the glass takes me and produces one of a kind artworks.

while i don’t normally use a pattern, i had the wonderful opportunity to make two limited series nature inspired mini designs for the Parks Project in 2021, shown here on my work bench.
